We believe in supporting young people to improve their lives through learning and employment. To help them realise the opportunities open to them and achieve their potential, whatever their starting point.
Kat and Jess formed Luminate Careers in early 2019 to fulfil our aspiration of working in schools delivering 1:1 guidance and careers education in a creative and inspirational way. We are Level 6 qualified practitioners with over 30 years’ experience of working in Derby City and Derbyshire schools. Our growing network of fully trained and qualified local associates support the delivery of careers guidance. Together with our Careers Guidance and Development qualifications, Jess is also qualified as an Occupational Psychologist.
At Luminate Careers we work to understand individual needs of young people and students. This shapes our approach ensuring that career management skills are gained in order to successfully manage a lifelong career.
Our vision at Luminate Careers is to ensure that all young people have access to quality independent advice and guidance, to help them shape their future.
We have worked closely with Kat and Jess from Luminate to design a programme bespoke to what we require at Derby Moor. This involves the traditional one to one appointments but also they are delivering at a number of key evenings and events with students, staff and parents, offering a drop-in service at lunchtime, helping us to develop our careers resources and working closely with a range of key staff within the school. Our initial relationship has already added significantly to our capacity to deliver the careers we wish to and I very much hope this will continue.
